Ascent Of The Amazon Ascensao de Amazonas. Inspired by some of the great Amazon expeditions of the past and a lifelong fascination with this part of our planet, I will attempt to cross South America East to West, on foot, following the mighty Amazon River from the Atlantic coast in Brazil to its source in the Peruvian Andes, then on to the Pacific coast in Peru.
